Why KITNA doesn't blend these into one score
A single “livability score” would blend a 2020 government ranking with our own cost estimates, which are still placeholders. That would look precise without being precise. We show each signal with its source and date.
We only use rankings from credible, published sources with a clear method. The Ease of Living Index (Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, released March 2021, 2020 data) scored 111 cities on quality of life, economic ability, sustainability and a citizen perception survey of 32.2 lakh residents. It's several years old, so read it as a structural picture, not today's conditions. Ranks we couldn't verify are marked.
